The Ego and the Cocoon

The Context & Content Warning

The Following Work of Art is a fascinating, uncomfortably honest psychological portrait of a person fluctuating between the desire to fly like a butterfly and the urge to crawl back into the dirt of their own anger. It offers a raw glimpse into a spiritual journey where the writer attempts transcendence, while leaving room for the messy, unpolished reality of a human ego that ultimately destroys that peace by the end.

The Ego and the Cocoon
Please note: This writing is not polished, academic poetry-it reads as pure, unfiltered catharsis. It is the unedited work of someone trying desperately to survive an emotional wrecking ball, containing mature themes and explicit language. Read at your own risk.

I want you to be happy
even if it means to be away from me
Are you being treated nicely
where ever you hang out casually?

Don’t let my silence bother
I’ve always been quiet
I’m be strong when alone
but I still feel you in my bones.

Just so you know I care
I still await your stare
I may be good with written words
but I’m emotionally barenaked & bare.

I apologize for feeling too much soon
I know it ain’t a boon
Everyone lives in a cocoon
of self-indulgent play,
I’m a butterfly,
aspired to fly in the sky.

I’ve been striving to find meaning in life
found attachments & compulsions appearing
But when I was left alone & solitude took over
for the first time, I didn’t want to level the score.

It was profound & unknown
so I explored the seeds I’d had sown
To find discover unbounded & true inner peace
For which I had to pay no zero fees.

An uprooting event caused an intense surge
To do things I’ve never done before
My bucket was empty & I was hurt
Who do I talk to, you had left too.

So I plunged into the unknown
As grief left me sensitive
The intense emotional upheaval
made left me nervous & very lonely.

everyone around me were
both so many Strangers
Every turn had were was a danger
So I went deep within me
as I felt mentally & emotionally paralyzed.

I sat with grief until it left
I sat with anger ego as it accused me of theft

Eventually I watched my emotions at play
They made me act like a puppet
But when I saw them behind the scenes
They ran away like drunk teens.

Only one stayed back with all its glory
shining bright & had a story
It makes me fly like a white dove,
& it’s named is nothing but ‘LOVE

The longer I stayed the more I learnt
The stronger I became than a the brunch
It feeds me with lunch
If someone hurts you, they will get a punch.

I ain’t angry towards you
Just a bit upset
Why do you put me through
these series of tests?

If winning means so much to you
You won,
All I care is for your happiness
Even if I dont get to eat your
milky & sensitive cunt!!!
